New Hope’s Rummage Mania – Another Great Year!
New Hope Counseling Center wishes to express a big Thank You, to everyone who helped make Rummage Mania another incredible success. As always, we were abundantly blessed by the outpouring of items.
Hundreds of people and dozens of families were blessed because of the generosity of people who live in this area and the surrounding counties.
We heard words of praise and thankfulness from many people. Some stories were more touching, like this one…
A little girl had found a pretty dress in the clothing department and we told her how pretty it was. She said she was going to wear it to the nursing home to see her grandmother. Her father told us that they were actually going to the funeral home as her mother (the girls’ grandmother) had just passed away. That put a lump in our throat, but at the same time, made us grateful that God had provided just what they needed in their time of grief. He’s pretty awesome like that.
We had so many faithful, hardworking volunteers who showed up to help us get things unpacked and organized, not to mention the clean up afterwards.
Some of the remaining items went to New Hope’s “Hope Chest Thrift Store” here in Centerville. The rest were donated to C.R.O.S.S. Ministries, located in Osceola, Ia. They have a wonderful Christian Ministry with a variety of mission works.
Donations were around $5,200.00, which will help us continue offering our counseling services free of charge, as well as providing other needed supplies for the ministry.
Words cannot express our appreciation to all of the people who helped us. Please know that we couldn’t have done it without you. You know who you are! A big Thank you goes out to First Baptist Church, Pastor Lloyd Johnston, and the entire church family for allowing us to hold the Rummage Mania event there each year. God Bless You All.
