Carol Sheets is the Coordinator of Hope Pregnancy Center. Carol, herself, chose abortion when she was 18 years old. After many years of justifying her decision and desiring the end of her life, she was moved by a young Christian woman on the radio who survived a saline abortion. She said, “Only God can choose whether someone lives or dies.” And that marked the time Carol finally understood what Jesus had to pay for her sins. She cried out to God asking for forgiveness in taking the life of her first child and started a new life in Christ.
-TESTIMONY from HPC Coordinator: Carol Sheets-
When I was 18, I had an abortion my freshman year in college. It forever changed my life. It wasn’t an ordeal that I got over in a few months or a few years. The pain and suffering from the aftermath of abortion is so deep and so encompassing; affecting my marriage, my children, my work, etc; it’s hard to explain in words. But it is true that he, who has been forgiven much, loves much. Without God’s love in my life, I don’t even know if I would even be alive today or have any joy to speak of. I am awe struck by His amazing grace and His forgiveness and healing in my life. And now He is using me to help others through HPC. “… The Lord has anointed and qualified me to preach the Gospel of good tidings to the meek, the poor, and afflicted; He has sent me to bind up and heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and the opening of the prison and of the eyes to those who are bound… to give them an ornament of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, the garment of praise instead of a heavy, burdened and failing spirit, that He may be glorified” (Isaiah 61:1-3).
